豬籠草分佈的高度很廣，從平地到三千公尺的高山都有。在園藝上，依據其海跋高度的分佈而分成兩大類：高地種(high land)和低地種(low land)。生長在一千公尺以上高山的豬籠草便是高地種，其栽培溫度為白天21度，夜間10度；生長在平地或低於一千公尺高山的豬籠草為低地種，其栽培溫度為白天29度，夜間21度。
